Nick Drake

He made three records, Five Leaves Left (1969), Bryter Layter (1970) and Pink Moon (1972). He died of an overdose of anti-depressants in 1974 at age 26. There is disagreement as to whether he killed himself. Although all his records were critically acclaimed, he was not well-known or appreciated until years after his death. Pink Moon consists of eleven very stark, minimalist (solo acoustic and vocal) songs ranging in length from one minute to three and a half minutes. Another album's worth of stuff was later rounded up and issued as Time of No Reply. There was a 4-LP set called Fruit Tree which came with an LP-sized book all about him. All the records are available on CD separately or as the Fruit Tree set.
